Simon joined Chambers in 2007 having successfully completed pupillage. Simon manages a busy, broad practice which specialises in family law but also includes crime, employment and general civil work.

Practice areas

Family law

Simon is an experienced family practitioner specialising in proceedings concerning children. He undertakes public and private law work at all levels up to and including the High Court. Simon also accepts instructions for Ancillary Relief, Contested Divorce, Cohabitee Disputes and Court of Protection matters.

Public law

Simon represents Local Authorites, parents, Guardians and children at all levels. He is experienced in cases involving serious physical, sexual and emotional abuse, and neglect. Simon has experience in cases involving jurisdictional and other complex legal issues. Simon often represents vulnerable clients including those with personality disorders and learning difficulties.

Private law

Simon represents parents and guardians in all types of private law children disputes including applications to remove from the jurisdiction and cases involving serious allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse.

Family finance

Simon represents clients in family finance disputes including TOLATA and child maintenance cases.

Criminal law

Simon has conducted a wide range of cases in criminal and regulatory law at all levels including Court of Appeal. More recently his criminal practice has focused primarily on Local Authority prosecutions with particular emphasis on fraud and trading standards law.

Civil law

Simon undertakes general civil work at all levels including written work and representation at Court hearings. Simon has a strong employment law background and continues to accept instructions to advise on employment issues and for representation at tribunals.

Employment

Prior to joining Chambers, Simon worked for a legal expenses insurer specialising in employment advice. Simon continues to advise and represent both Claimants and Respondents including written advice and representation at tribunals.
