Josh joined Chambers as a Tenant in January 2024 having previously practiced locally.

Josh studied Law at Cardiff University where he obtained a 2:1 Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. Whilst at University, Josh was an active member of Cardiff University Law Society and frequently participated in Mooting events.

Following the completion of his Undergraduate studies, Josh worked at two major Legal 500 Law Firms, initially assisting in disputes involving harmful products. He also worked closely with Fee Earners regarding complex Poly Implant Prothèse (PIP) Group Litigation.

In addition, Josh gained extensive insight into the Small Claims Protocol, successfully assisting individuals and groups alike with claims and actions relating to various areas of personal injury.

Josh subsequently returned to Cardiff University to undertake the Bar Professional Training Course (‘BPTC’). He also completed his Master of Laws (LLM) degree. His dissertation discussed whether moving to an online court system would radically improve access to justice, particularly with respect to individuals involved in the Family Court process.

As a practising barrister, Josh is a frequent visitor to University Law Departments, speaking to both Undergraduate and Postgraduate students, sharing his experience of life at the Family Bar and providing insight into and assistance with the Pupillage process.



Practice Areas

Family law

Josh has built an extensive Family practice and regularly represents Parents, Grand-parents and Guardians before Lay Magistrates, District Judges and Circuit Judges.

Josh frequently receives instructions in both Private and Public law proceedings where he acts on behalf of individuals involved in various stages of the process including Case Management Hearings, Contested Interim Removal Hearings, Issue Resolution Hearings and Final Hearings.

In his Private Law practice, Josh is regularly instructed on matters including domestic abuse and allegations of child abuse. He regularly represents those involved at all stages of Private Law disputes from Conciliation through to Final Hearings and Finding-of-Fact Hearings. Josh has also developed a paper-based practice providing formal written advice on prospects of success pertaining to specific Family Law disputes and in relation to obtaining legal aid.

Josh also represents individuals in Family Law Act proceedings concerning applications for Non-Molestation Orders and Occupation Orders.
