Catrin joined Chambers as a tenant in September 2011 following successful completion of her pupillage. She has developed a busy family, criminal and civil practice.

Practice areas

Family law

Catrin has an established practice in both public and private law matters. 

She regularly appears in care proceedings representing parents, children, interveners and Local Authorities. Catrin has considerable experience of cases involving neglect, domestic violence and sexual abuse, as well as dealing with a range of applications, including adoption applications.

Catrin also has extensive experience representing parents and guardians in private law matters. Her practice includes proceedings relating to physical violence as well as sexual abuse and cases of implacable hostility. Catrin also accepts instructions in both external and internal relocation applications, as well as injunctive proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996.

Criminal law

Catrin is regularly instructed to undertake trials for both Prosecution and Defence in the Crown Court, and is a CPS Level Two Prosecutor, accepting instructions in all areas of criminal law. 

She also frequently appears in the Crown Court in appeals and sentences. Catrin also has a wealth of experience prosecuting and defending in Magistrates’ Courts.  She also undertakes regulatory work, and represents various prosecuting agencies including Local Authorities, the Wales Probation Trust, Department of Work and Pensions, DVLA, and Serco.  

Civil law

Catrin accepts instructions in a range of civil matters, and represents both Claimants and Defendants. She regularly appears in fast track trials, Stage Three hearings, possession actions, insolvency matters, and interlocutory hearings and applications, including cost case management conferences. 

Catrin also accepts instructions in tribunal proceedings, in particular in matters before the Social Security Tribunal, and has experience of representing parties at disciplinary hearings and public enquiries. Catrin’s paperwork practice includes drafting pleadings and advising on matters relating to personal injury, contract disputes, agricultural law, trusts, and landlord and tenant issues.
